Kosovo Bucket List

In this space, I intend to make a list of all the sites I'd like to see and things I'd like to do while in Kosovo. Right now ideas for the list are coming primarily from the Bradt travel guide for Kosovo (second edition), but I'm sure that once I'm actually there, word of mouth will add a few things as well. As I do these things, I'll try to remember to mark them off the list. Feel free to make suggestions of things to add to the list!

Prishtina/Pristina

Central Kosovo

• Gracanica Monastery (visited 24 August 2013)
• Cave of Gadime

Western Kosovo

• Regional Ethnological Museum of Peja
• Bajrakli Mosque
• Pec Patrairchate
• Waterfalls at the source of the Drini i Bardhe
•  Mirusha Waterfalls
• Visoki Decani Monastery
• Shabanaj Mill (on the way to Visoki Decani Monastery; handicrafts for sale)
• Gjakova (walking tour of the town)

South Kosovo

•  Prizren
• Wine tasting/vineyard tour in Rahovec

Southeast Kosovo

• There are lots of picturesque villages, drives, and hiking trails, but let's face it ... I'll travel to this region primarily to visit the PX at Camp Bondsteel. 

Northern Kosovo

•  For security reasons, this region is off limits to U.S. diplomats unless they're on official business. It's off limits to the families of U.S. diplomats, period. We will not be visiting Northern Kosovo.
