I'd have been so upset I would have hit the trunk, kicked the door and who know what else! Oh and if I'd had children with me-the driver better have put it in park cause he was getting OUT of that car!! Glad you weren't hurt and proud of you for being ready to face the fear of unruly driving!

Hope you and the nieces have a great day!!Jeannehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07680912628225760525noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-171449100604531845.post-53228623128940869472008-07-16T13:23:00.000+03:002008-07-16T13:23:00.000+03:00There are speed limits, but it's hard to remem...There are speed limits, but it's hard to remember to care about them. The traffic cops aren't in cars, so they don't chase you down and give you a ticket like they do in the States. Instead, they write down your tag number. When you go to re-register your car (an annual requirement), you have to pay all outstanding tickets first. You aren't notified of them until that time.

Women can and do drive, just as aggressively as the men. I personally intend to drive for the first time on a Friday morning--that's when the Muslims go to mosque, and the roads are virtually deserted.Deborahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10249491905813918066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-171449100604531845.post-5930805932332496972008-07-16T16:22:00.000+03:002008-07-16T16:22:00.000+03:00I agree with Jeanne! Seems as if they would have some sort of conscience about safety, but then again, they all grow up there and that's how things have been for 'all of eternity' as far as they're concerned. They don't know any different. I'm really glad that you're ok! And thank God for the look on the other drivers face... otherwise you coulda been hurt. Love reading the posts! Probably some kind of record for Americans experiencing a new life in Cairo.
Your blogs are great, thanks for taking the time to write them.
So, how are the grand kitty daughters?
